MI Transport is pleased to announce the appointment of Peach-Marie Ralph as our new Senior Business Development Manager.
Peach has been with the company for two months, previously working as a freight forwarder predominantly in European and global sea freight. She has worked with MI Transport in previous roles and has now joined the company to assist with our ambitious business expansion projects.
We spoke to Peach about her role, MI’s European expansion and the future of the industry.
What does your new role entail?
I’ve joined MI as a Senior Business Development Manager, with a view to supporting the business’s expansion in Europe.
While we have our own fleet and warehouse in the UK, we’re looking at increasing our operations in Europe and globally. Even in the short time I’ve been here, we’ve been able to establish significant new business and operation within the EU and are working to continue to expand. I have some previous relationships with businesses who have chosen to work with MI going forward, which has allowed us to build quickly.
Our next step is to expand a team around me who will be able to operate from within Europe, supporting our clients and our continued expansion. We’ve already supported some large projects, including the touring Les Misérables show in Italy at the moment, which required coordinating seven vehicles and a police escort!
What do you enjoy about your job?
I love offering customers solutions. I thrive in high pressure environments, and I relish finding unusual, time-critical solutions to problems, especially with customs and borders where I feel I have some unique expertise. I’m excited to be able to offer these to MI Transport’s customers moving forward.
What are your ambitions for 2025?
Our primary ambition is to continue our European expansion and become fully established as a European supplier, on which we’ve made an amazing start. We would also love to offer more modes of transport, including sea and air freight. To do that we’ll need to expand the team, so I’m looking forward to welcoming more people to the business.
How do you see the industry developing in 2025?
The biggest challenge for the industry at the moment is the cost of fuel, which is likely to increase further. Aside from that, other pressures like the minimum wage increase and any taxation changes from the new Government may prove to be difficult.
